Where to Work Out in Whistler
Whistler has a great variety of gyms and yoga studios. Some might scoff and say 'Whistler is my gym', as our extensive trail system and mountain access provides ample opportunities for exercise. However, some of us still have a craving to lift some heavy metal and to be guided through a super zen yoga class. Here's a list of all the gym faciltities and yoga studios in Whistler.
GYMS

Altitude Fitness
Creekside, next to B.C Liquor.
Best for: modern equipment.
The new kid on the block, Altitude doesn't disappoint. Brand new equipment, amazing classes and it even has a floatation therapy room.

The Core
Village, below the Conference Centre
Best for: location.
The only gym in Whistler Village that also houses an impressive climbing wall, bouldering area, two class studios and great variety of classes and bootcamps.

Local's climbing nights on Wednesdays. Indoor climbing area has auto belay and regular ropes on the walls so you can get your climb on with or without a partner.

Fairmont Chateau
Upper Village
Best for: package deal
If you're willing to commit to 6 months, the Fairmont Chateau Health Club could be a great option for you. In their 6 month package, you get free parking (5 minutes from the ski lifts!!), pool, sauna and gym access as well as towel service.

Meadowpark Sports Centre
Alpine Meadows
Best for: bang for your buck.
The only gym in Whistler that has a large indoor swimming pool, ice rink, hot tub, sauna, and full cardio and weights facilities. Great class variety and discounts before 8.30am, after 9pm and during lunch hour from 11am-1pm. ​

Yogacara
Whistler Village (above Naked Sprout, across from Earl's)
A local's favourite &
conveniently located in the heart of Whistler village, Yogacara provides intimate classes with a maximum of 15 students per session. This light and serene studio has a reading area, hot tea, and a warm, meditative environment.
It is home to engaging, compassionate instructors who gently guide you through your asanas in a great variety of flow and deep stretch classes.

All mats and props are provided for free, including bolsters and relaxing eye masks.

YYoga Neo Whistler
Function Junction (behind Home Hardware)
The only studio in Whistler that offers hot yoga. Tucked away in FJ, Neo Whistler also offers showers, a small boutique and a tea lounge. The large, modern studio is filled with lots of natural light and experienced local instructors.

This studio is suited to more advanced yogis, although they do have beginner friendly options.
Mats and towels can be rented for $3.50 each.

Luna Whistler
Maury Young Arts Centre, Whistler Village
Late & Unique Nighttime Alternatives (LUNA) is a fantastic programme put on by the municipality that provides fun, alcohol-free nighttime events for young adults aged 18-35 in Whistler.
Yoga classes are provided on Thursdays from 5.30-7pm at the LUNA Lounge on the lower level of the Maury Young Arts Center.
Classes held from November through May and are free for LUNA members ($3 for everyone else). Annual Luna membership will set you back just $20.

Powerfulosophy
Fairmont Chateau Whistler
Based out of the Fairmont Hotel in Upper Village, Power​fulosophy offers daily hands-on power yoga classes for all levels. Offering quite the workout for those wanting to push themselves and gentle adjustments for those with less flexibility, this class is a well kept local's secret.
With ideal location, free shower access and mats provided at no cost - Powerfulosophy's local intro deal is arguably the best one going.

Meadowpark
Alpine Meadows
Meadowpark offer weekly Stretch & Restore yoga classes including in their drop in rate of $8.75.
"This style of yoga complements an active lifestyle, both on the physical and mental levels. Gentle flow, stretch and restorative postures work with the nervous system, thus affecting muscles, connective tissues and organs, with a goal of happiness and wellbeing. This practice is also an opportunity for meditation."

As well as their other great classes, Altitude also offer Power Yoga (advanced), Apres Yoga and Flow Yoga (all abilities).
Apres Yoga: Stretch out and relax those sore muscles achy muscles after a long day on the slopes. This practice helps restore your body and prevents injury.

The Core
Whistler Village, opposite Tapleys
The Core gym offers Ying Yang Yoga and Vinyasa Flow classes.
Their unique Yin Yang class is popular:
"The first half of the class focuses on balance and core strength (Yang), followed by deep stretching working into the connective tissues, leaving your body feeling open and relaxed (Yin)."
Access to changing rooms and showers provided in the cost.

The Howe Sound Women’s Centre offers a variety of programs and services to support women and children in our community. One of their services is yoga by donation, every Thursday morning from 9.30-10.30am.
